Art on the Green-- New Castle, DE 09/08/2011
Happy September everyone! As the weeks go by, Art on the Green in New Castle, DE is fast approaching. Just 3 more weeks and I will be out at Battery Park, standing under my tent with all my items saying HI to everyone that passes by. I am really looking forward to the show! It will be my first big show in a while and I am hoping to do well. I have been busy making new items just for the show. There is one very new item that I just started doing, and that is a smaller clipboard to hold notes on. With these smaller clipboards I am going to be including several sheets of handmade letterpress note paper. I have also been thinking about including a decorative magnet on the clips of my larger clipboards. The magnets would be made of vintage or vintage looking jewelry pieces. Does anyone think this is a good idea? Well I am off to work on some more pieces for the show! Hope to see some of you there!! Add Comment Very, very excited!! 08/05/2011
Last month I received news that I had been selected to be part of Art On The Green in New Castle, DE. This will be the largest juried show that I have ever attended! I am super nervous about it, but also very excited!! I just want to do well at it and have enough variety in my inventory to please the people attending the show. I know the show is well over a month away, but it has consumed my life in the last few months... hahahaha :) So if you are in or near the New Castle, DE area on Sept. 24 come visit me at Battery Park where Art On The Green is held. Hp April Craft Shows... 03/14/2011
Happy Happy Monday... or at least I am pretending it is!! The two shows that I have signed up for in April are fast approaching. I can't believe that the first one is just a little less then 3 weeks away!! The Spring Expo (Apr. 2) at the Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA will be a nice one to open the spring and summer craft show season for me; it's an indoor show :) The indoor shows are nice because you don't have to worry about a tent or wind or rain. I just need to worry about a table and maybe a shelf or two, so much easier :) I enjoy the outdoor ones also, with the fresh air and they are typically more fun, but there's so much more that has to go into the set up and break down, so I am saving my first outdoor show for May :) The second show will be the juried Annual Spring Craft Show at Pennridge Community Senior Center in Perkasie, PA on April 16. This show is an indoor and outdoor show, but I'll be safe on the inside... hahaha. I'm really looking forward to it! Both shows should be a lot of fun and get me prepared for the larger outdoor shows I plan on doing in May and June. If you are in the south eastern PA area and need something to do on April 2 and 16, come to the shows and say HI, I'd love to meet you! Working Hard on a Big Order 02/15/2011
Good afternoon! It is yet another cold day here in Philadelphia. I so can't wait for the warmer weather to arrive! The green leaves coming back to the trees, the flower buds making their way through the thawed ground; just the awakening of everything that spring brings. The best part though, will be being able to go outside without the fear of getting frostbite ;) So, while the weather is still cold, I have been inside working hard on a custom order. This order is for 20 clipboards. That's a lot of clipboards... hahahaha :) The first half will be finished today and the second half will be started on tomorrow. I will be happy when the order is completed and I can move onto something new :) But off I go again, back to working on the clipboards :) Have a wonderful day and Websites I love and visit often... 11/30/2010
Malvern's Fall Festival, Oct. 3 10/04/2010
So this past Sunday I was a vendor at the Malvern Fall Festival. I was wishing and praying that it was going to be a nice day for an outdoor show. Well, I got half of my wish, there was no rain and it wasn't freezing... hahaha :) But it was very windy! Several items got knocked over several times and I ended up losing 3 pieces to damages that could not be repaired. That is one of the down falls of outdoor shows. The wind was not my friend and my helper and I had to hold the tent down for most of the show because the bricks were not doing their job. I really think the tent just wanted to fly away ;-) It was great meeting everyone at the show though and I did have a great time! I am hoping to have photos of the booth sometime this week. And thank you to all of you that stopped by and a special thanks to those that purchased something! Hope you all have a great rest of the week and enjoy the wonderful fall weather! ~Jennifer :) Interview on The Shop Bug blog 09/15/2010

Give away on Facebook page 07/26/2010
Hi everyone! I hope you guys have been having a great July :) It has been a super hot one here on the east coast. Today there is a break in the heat and humidity and I am enjoying it! On Laughing Taffy Designs fan page on Facebook this week I am having a give away. Each day there will be a new question to answer. At the end of the week, the person with the most and second most will receive a set of coasters or magazine bin. So if you would like to get in on the give away, join the fan page and start answering questions! :) A Break In Shows and a Pic of Taffy 07/11/2010
If you live on the east coast you know that the weather here has been brutal, with most days being well over 90 degrees. I was at a show a few weeks ago and felt that I could handle the heat since I would be in the shade. Well, I was mistaken... hahahaha. The heat was unbearable! And it's because of that that I have decided to take a break from outdoor shows... hahahaha :) But I will be getting back into them come the end of August, beginning of September. At the last show I did though, a lot of people asked me how I came up with my shop name of Laughing Taffy Designs, so I thought I would post a pic of my lovable cat Taffy. Taffy is always happy, playful and seems to be smiling constantly, which is what I hope my pieces embody. So without further ado, here's Taffy... Past Show and New Projects 06/16/2010
So this past weekend I was at a vendor/craft show supporting a Girl Scout Troop. It was fun meeting new people. And I was kept entertained by Jonny (the little boy I nanny for) who came to help me out. I have started making coasters to use up my leftover scraps of paper and all the stamps I have laying around that never get used. They are fun to make and add a little variety to my crafting days :) |
